Let me tell you something about wolves, child. When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. (insp x)

Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art / Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night / And watching, with eternal lids apart, / Like nature’s patient, sleepless Eremite, / The moving waters at their priestlike task / Of pure ablution round earth’s human shores, / Or gazing on the new soft-fallen masque / Of snow upon the mountains and the moors - / No - yet still stedfast, still unchangeable / Pillow’d upon my fair love’s ripening breast, / To feel for ever its soft swell and fall, / Awake for ever in a sweet unrest, / Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath, / And so live ever - or else swoon in death.

austenchanted:

"And of this place," thought she, "I might have been mistress! With these rooms I might now have been familiarly acquainted! Instead of viewing them as a stranger, I might have rejoiced in them as my own, and welcomed to them as visitors my uncle and aunt. - But no," - recollecting herself, - "that could never be: my uncle and aunt would have been lost to me: I should not have been allowed to invite them." This was a lucky recollection - it saved her from something like regret.

The gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed.

It was the scene strolling through the garden with Lena Headey, and the last thing they shot was when I was looking out into the Adriatic Sea. Then I tore off my costume and jumped into the ocean. Then I said good-bye to everybody and got in the van and rode to the airport.
